Kylie and Thomas’s wedding day at The Millstone at Adam’s Pond began with nerves running as high as the eager anticipation as we watched our weather apps and the dark clouds forming in the sky. Hundreds of wooden chairs were set up on the terrace overlooking the water, waiting to be filled for an long-awaited and carefully planned outdoor ceremony. Kylie kept glancing out the window and she gently swept tears away from her eyes. Everyone was breathing prayers under their breath and asking for a few hours of warm sunlight to pierce through the looming clouds.
And that prayer was answered.
We were able to go outside for portraits and I felt everyone begin to relax. As the ceremony time approached, musicians began to play, guests arrived and took their seats under the live oak trees dripping with Spanish moss. A worshipful service unfolded and only a few drops were felt on our skin as we watched the union of a precious couple. Then, as they kissed and walked back up the aisle, the heavens opened and it began to rain. God is so good.
The rest of the night unfolded with nothing more than pure bliss and utter joy, surrounded and celebrated by so many friends and loved ones.
Kylie and Thomas, thank you, dear friends, for the way that you encouraged me this year. You continually affirmed the gift I’ve carefully honed over the years, and recognized the beauty I would bring to your wedding day. I hope and pray I was a calming presence to you both, and I hope you knew how deeply honored I was to help you plan, and now, relive this day for decades to come. I love you both dearly! Congratulations!!
**Thank you also to Lauren of Clif & Co for supporting me and being so helpful all day! You added so much to the final gallery and I’m grateful for you!
