Operation: Demo

A nice boy and girl got a dog.

This dog decided he loved to explode pens….on the carpet.

This dog tracked dirt into the house. Our vacuum died in submission.

Owners of this dog decided that carpet was a bad idea.

The floor is the kitchen was not staying clean either (not dog related. give him a break on this one)

Since this couple has a very teeny house, they decided to replace the flooring all at once so it matches.

They pulled up all the carpet.

They scraped up 3 layers of ruthless kitchen tile.

They pulled out tack strips and quarter-inch baseboards.

They went to the store and bought the new floors at a miraculous price.

They decided to save lots of money and lay the floors themselves.

They were happy.

Day 1: One of their friends came to help and teach. 3 days earlier he cracked several ribs from falling from his truck. He lasted a few hours and went home. They finished one small room, except for the doorway.

Day 2: The boy called another friend to help. He came for a little while but had to leave. They finished the doorway in the first room.

Day 3: The boy recruited some new friends at church to come over and help. They stayed for a few hours and finished half the master bedroom. Now the couple can sleep on their bed again….instead of the couch.

Day 4: The boy calls another friend who came bright and early in the morning. They finished the master bedroom…..

In case you haven’t figured it out by now, Mike and I are this happy couple. We are doing to need to make some new friends if we ever want to finish our house….hopefully we’ll still have some by the time this is over!!

If our communication with you has been slow, we have been living in a concrete world for the past 2 weeks with all of our belongings in the garage. I had to jump over my coffee table and 4 boxes to find some wrapping paper this weekend. That was fun…

Enjoy some pictures of our “progress” and stay safe during this Holiday season. I went to Target yesterday not realizing that there is only one more shopping weekend left before Christmas. There was a line wrapped around the building waiting for it to open and I swear people were chasing me around the store.

Happy Christmas Shopping – Be nice!

Our dog cannot understand why we would leave him outside for hours while we are working…He would prefer to be inside wrapped in a blanket….
