How insanely beautiful is this little girl? I believe she was 12 days old when I was welcomed into the Durgin home, and I couldn’t be more grateful. With Sophie’s dark hair, sparkling eyes, and even a little bit of a smile already, I was struck by her beauty. Here are some of my favorite that I can’t wait to share!!

And, ETSY to the rescue with an adorable bunny outfit for baby Sophie!

During many newborn sessions, mom’s need a few minutes to nurse their newborn. While some may feel that is rude or “rushing” the session, I welcome it completely. First of all, I know the mom is trying to get on a schedule and when it’s time, it’s time! Secondly, when a baby is full and satisfied, I’m able to work with a content newborn (and often a sleeping newborn, which is my favorite! That’s when we can do more fun & creative posing.) Third, I never like to rush newborn sessions, so it’s not a big deal to me at all!!

That being said, I took the opportunity to photograph new big brother, Lauden as he played outside with his dad! I am really beginning to love “lifestyle” photography and I think this showcases that…

Jenna + Cory : Magnolia Gardens Wedding

I was honored to assist Lola Dee Photography in shooting this gorgeous wedding in Charleston. I had never been to this specific location or venue before and was blown away as I drove in. A million different ideas were popping into my head and I was instantly feeling blessed with this opportunity to be a part of this couples wedding day. Laura’s usual second shooter had to have surgery at the last minute and she and I had just met at the NC & SC Photographers Bridal Session that I organized at the Lace House. Laura is in the beginning stages of starting up her business but already had a great eye and is so genuine with her clients. I stayed behind the scenes and was able to capture these photographs that she gave me permission to share!!

Camila : 10 Months

A few things about you this month…

STILL NO TEETH
You weigh about 17lbs and are in the 7th percentile in height… around 25-26 inches long.
You are a speeeeedy crawler, you pull yourself up quickly and think you can then let go and stand. No quite yet!
You talk constantly and I love hearing your babble. You say the words mama, dadda and you’re learning bye bye & buckeye! They sound a lot alike!
You recently learned how to give high fives, “sound like an indian”, give kisses, and you’re starting to point to things when I ask you like “wheres the light”?
You’re finally starting to grow hair and for now it looks like you’re a blondie.
Although you hate your carseat because you’re so ACTIVE, you went on your first road trip last week and did AMAZING. 7 hours and only a few minutes of fussiness.
You are able to put yourself to sleep (after playing for a little while in your crib) and you instantly look for buckeye when I lift you out. And you wake up HAPPY!
If daddy is gone when you get up in the morning, you spend the first half hour or so whispering “dada” as you look for him.
You eat with your hands, like EVERYTHING you’ve tried, finally love your sippy cup and your high chair! Big girl!!

Lexington Children’s Spring Portraits: Part II

Good morning!! What a whirlwind this past week has been for us! We just got back from a 7 hour road trip with our 10 month old last night. Let me just say that I was completely amazed at how well she did… because let me tell you… this chica hates her carseat! However, we made it there smoothly, we spent 4 days serving with our former church in Kentucky doing basketball camp & VBS and Mila was constantly woken up, shuttled around, passed around, and was still full of smiles.

How that it’s Wednesday and feels like MONDAY, I have a lot of catching up to do. For starters, here’s the rest of the portraits from Lexington’s Spring Mini sessions! Can’t wait to do our family ones in the fall – they’re my favorite!! Happy Monday — I mean, WEDNESDAY!!

Meet Maddy

I decided to blog this session separately from my other spring portrait ones. I did photograph her for 15 minutes as a mini session, but Maddy’s approach was different than the other munchkins I was working with. First of all, Maddy’s not a munchkin — she’s a model. Going into 7th grade, she’s poised, mature, and is on a fast track both in cheerleading (trying out for her high school team) and a career in modeling. She’s truly talented and completely gorgeous….putting my middle school years to shame. (Whose with me? HA!) Not to mention, this session was E-A-S-Y. While I got plenty of great portraits in 15 minutes, the artistic side of me was begging for her to stay all afternoon. It would have been so much fun…. maybe another time!!

Enough of my rambling… Here she is!

I’ll admit, I almost didn’t do the senior rep program this year after moving and having to rethink a lot of business strategies, but you know what? I LOVE students, seniors & summer, so why not?!?!

Lexington Spring Children’s Portraits: Part I

After the sessions went SO SMOOTHLY in Barnwell, I was hoping for the same thing in Lexington, but it didn’t quite happen that way. Our daughter ended up in the hospital the week leading up to the sessions and we weren’t released until the day before. On top of that, it was supposed to rain, so I rescheduled. The next date that worked for everyone was the following weekend. I drove from Barnwell to Augusta to take my mom to the airport and then looped around the Columbia… and as I’m driving there I see a dark sky moving in. Yep, it was raining! AH! I think in 4 years of living in South Carolina I’ve had rain cancellations maybe half a dozen times… and we were on round 2.

Anyways, I was able to meet up with 3 clients this past week and the following sessions are going to be photographed this Saturday. Looking forward to meeting some new little ones and finally getting these wrapped up!! Just in time for SUMMER & SENIORS!! YAY!

Sandra + Dallas : Edgemoor Wedding

Sandra & Dallas met at the front of this incredibly old & beautiful chapel to dedicate their lives to one another. Filled with joy and anticipation, the ceremony was filled with moments of laughter and heartfelt emotion. Family and friends gathered to support the joining of this couple, and not only was I honored to photograph it, but my husband officiated the wedding — we were truly blessed to serve such an integral role in this wedding day.

We pray that your joy continues and your relationship is strengthened daily! Thank you again for allowing us to be a part of your wonderful day!!

Olivia : One Year Review!
